Becoming Her. Breaking Cycles. Building Legacy.
Hey you—
If you’ve landed here, it’s not by accident. Whether you’re a mama, wife, cycle-breaker, millennial in healing mode—or just someone craving real over curated—welcome home.
My name is Lay-Cee. I’m a Black woman, a wife, a mother of three, a 9-to-5er with a podcast mic, a credit dispute letter in one hand, and healing in the other. I’m not here to give you a highlight reel—I’m here to unpack the middle. The part between survival and self-discovery. The part where you’re still figuring it out, but you’re not who you used to be.
Who I am at my core?
I’m the product of a mother battling mental health challenges and a father whose past included murder. And yet—somehow, I created a family filled with laughter, faith, love, and redemption. I know what it means to break generational trauma with shaky hands. I know what it means to love hard while healing loud. I know what it feels like to wear every hat, carry every load, and still wonder if you’re doing enough.
But I also know this:
I’m becoming her.
The woman who doesn’t just survive—she leads.
The woman who sets boundaries without guilt.
The woman who tells the truth, not just the testimony.
The woman who still believes in softness, even with scars.
What
Signed, Lay-Cee
is about
This space is for millennial women—especially Black women—who are healing, evolving, mothering, partnering, and creating something deeper than content: a legacy. Here, we talk about it all:
- Marriage when you didn’t grow up with a model for it
- Motherhood while re-mothering yourself
- Healing from financial trauma and building wealth with wisdom
- Faith without performance
- Creating while working a 9-to-5
- Finding joy and still missing your younger self
- Resting without guilt
This isn’t a blog about having the answers. It’s about asking better questions—and being real in the process.
Why blogging?
Because I need a space where I can speak without chasing algorithms. Where the caption limit doesn’t silence the nuance. Where the mic isn’t just for podcast episodes but for moments that matter—unfiltered and unpolished.
This is my written love letter to women like me.
Every post will feel like voice notes between sisters.
No fluff. No branding mask. Just signed—
Lay-Cee.
What to expect:
- Weekly blogs that feel like truth serum + therapy + a good girlfriend check-in
- Podcast drops with transcripts, behind-the-scenes thoughts, and deeper reflections
- Relatable storytelling about healing, debt, family, faith, and feminine power
- A safe space to grow, grieve, laugh, question, and become
If you’re tired of pretending, performing, or pushing through in silence—stay a while. This is for you.
Signed,
Lay-Cee
